Kitesurf instructing

Our main reason for going to Portgal was for Paul to teach kitesurfing and complete the goal he had set for himself.

After being offered a job teaching on a lagoon, the role sounded perfect – no big waves and easy access.

Paul enjoyed teaching the students, who arrived from all over the world.

However the wind was not as consistent as expected. There were mostly light winds, and the weather was not that good. There was lots of rain and it was really quite cold. Not at all what we thought Portugal weather would be like.

Paul continued working as an instructor for a couple of months, but the work was erratic and he eventually decided to call it a day.

He was happy that he had accomplished his original goal of training to be an instructor, applying for a job, being offered a job, teaching in a kite school and being paid for it.

Paul has decided that he is happier actually kite surfing, than teaching kite surfing.
