Berlenga Island Boat Trip

Continuing our travels along Portugal’s Silver Coastline, Berlenga Island is part of an archipelago off the coast of Peniche.

While waiting for our boat at Peniche Marina we checked out these 2 tile frescos.

It was a really foggy day so not much of a view initially. We were advised to sit upstairs due to the high incidence of vomiting down below !!

Fog lifted in time to see the islands.

The sea looks so clear – we also took a glass-bottomed boat tour of the caves around the island

The Sau Joao Batista fort

one of many caves

Our guide spoke many languages

Turquoise sea due to sediment from bluish rock

Elephant rock

Rainbow cave

Tunnel to the other side…

Stopped at the Fort for lunch

Track from the fort to rest of the island

Windy near the top

it’s also a nature reserve

Seagulls were sitting on eggs right next to the path

Feels like we’re on holiday – hang on a minute, we are! 😁

I would recommend this Berlenga island boat trip 🚤
